Phillip Cross Dip CAH, Hpd, PNLP MNCH (Lic) - Unlock your true potential
There are many people who have misconceptions about hypnosis and hypnotherapy, below are some commonly asked questions in order for you to understand more about the two subjects. Also any other questions which may be asked on any area of the treatment;

  • What hypnotherapist will be right for me? You should first check that the hypnotherapist has recognised qualifications,  also look into the treatments they offer. I think the key component is weather or not you feel comfortable talking to the therapist, this will indicate good understanding. It is vital you feel comfortable with the therapist as he/she could play a big role in helping you to make great change in your life. • Will I be controlled under hypnosis? Absolutely not. This is the most common misconception made with hypnosis. Hypnosis in my opinion is best described as deep relaxation, not sleep or unconsciousness, simply deep guided relaxation. You will be in complete control of yourself whilst in hypnosis, you are able to come out of hypnosis whenever you wish and can not be made to do anything you do not wish to do. This is not what you see on television (stage hypnotists), it is Therapy and we are here to help you achieve your goals.

  • When can you see me?Appointments are subject to availability, we can see you from 9.00am - 6.00pm. Usually the soonest we could see you is 48 hours, but if you contact us we could have available space instantly or the following day if needed. We also make home visits if your suffering from Agoraphobia or would rather be seen at home.

  • How many sessions will I need? The number of sessions solely depends on the issue you are seeking help with. For instance, smoking cessation is normally dealt with in one session, weight control could also be dealt with in one or two sessions. Other issues such as depression, anxiety and stress depends on the severity and nature of the condition. You will also be taught self hypnosis and other skills in order to reinforce what has been said in treatment, a CD can also be made to use for your own leisure.

  • Will it work for me? If you are coming into therapy with an open mind and wanting to be helped, then there is a great chance of success. Each session Phillip and yourself will speak about how you are progressing and how best to reach the goals you desire.

  • Do you make me go to sleep? No, certainly not. A 'hypnotic state' is about being completely physically and mentally relaxed in order to be able to suggest to your sub conscious mind an alternative way of thinking. Before giving the sub conscious mind suggestions, you will talk about that different way of thinking you wish to have before entering a state of deep relaxation.

  • Who will be present? Usually just you and Phillip the hypnotherapist will be present, but if you wish to bring along a family member or friend for extra support that is fine. Children under the age of 17 would need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian in attendance in the session.

If the question you are wishing to know the answer to is not listed above, don't hesitate to ask, we are here to help you and will be happy to answer any question you wish to ask.
